Preview of 27th January 2016 Words&Words

Many thanks to all the poets who read at the 3rd December reading, we had another packed room and wide-ranging poetry, this time focussing on the visual including still and moving images.

Katya Johnson has written a review of the evening for the New Welsh Review blog.

Now we are getting ready to start the new year right with our third session on 27th January. You can book here.

  • Planet: The Welsh Internationalist will present poetry readings plus discussion on the interweave between poetry, Welsh culture and politics.
  • Peter Barry is Aberystwyth co-ordinator for Contempo (Centre for Contemporary Poetry) and project leader for Devolved Voices. His poetry has been published in Poetry Wales, Stand, Poesia, and more.
  • Rhys Trimble is a performer/improvisor interested in medieval Welsh language and avant garde writing practices. See his recent collection, Swansea Automatic.

As always, come to the Aberystwyth Arts Centre Theatre Foyer at 6:30 to sign up for an open mic slot. The show starts at 7:45.

More details and more surprises to follow! We hope this keeps you warm over the holidays and ready for more innovative poetry and spoken word in the new year.
