Prif feirdd // Featured Poets:

  • David Greenslade – David Greenslade works in Welsh and English and several of his ‘actions’ have been filmed and broadcast on S4C. Among other things he once surrounded the Welsh Office with an unbroken line of salt and has also wrapped up choirs, cafes and submarines in acres of warm, agricultural fleece. His writing has been widely published.  (Ponorka [Submarine] is the name of a bar in the Czech Republic.) Books include Signs Like This and the forthcoming City of Opal Altars.
  • Nicky Arscott – Nicky Arscott’s poetry comics have appeared in Poetry Wales, New Welsh Review, Nashville Review and INK BRICK and will be exhibited next year at MOMA Wales. She lives in Llanbrynmair. https://arscottnicky.wordpress.com/
  • Katya Johnson – Katya Johnson is a local wordsmith, blogger and lyric poet. Her poetry and prose primarily explores ecological and art historical themes. Katya’s work has been regularly featured in The New Welsh Review and her writing has been published by Poetry Wales and the Tate Modern among others. See her blog, Nature Writing in Wales.

Words&Words&Words innovative poetry and spoken word evening built up a poetry buzz last year and is back for a second season in 2016-17. Organised by Mary Jacob in association with the Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Words&Words&Words features invited guest poets in conjunction with literary journals such as Poetry Wales, New Welsh Review, Planet: the Welsh Internationalist, and more. To perform at the open mic, please sign up at the Performance Studio at 6:30. All types of poetry are welcome, including Welsh, English and other languages.
