“I beg to be considered not as a Topographer but as a curious traveller willing to collect all that a traveller may be supposed to do in his voyage; I am the first that attempted travels at home, therefore earnestly wish for accuracy.” – Thomas Pennant, May 1773.

Both sessions in July are connected with the exhibition, “Curious Travellers: Movement, Landscape, Art,” in which thirteen artists respond to one man’s travels. The exhibition is open 29 June – 31 July in the Gallery 10am – 4pm, Monday to Sunday. Dr Mary-Ann Constantine (CAWCS) will give an introduction to the exhibition at the start of each writing workshop.
The English and Creative Writing Department at Aberystwyth University is delighted to offer two creative writing workshops each month free of charge for the public as part of our 2017 series. Please meet the tutors in the foyer of the Old College about five minutes before the start time of the session.
